The Nigerian government has approved a new National health policy that would clarify the functions of all the levels of government and their responsibilities in health care delivery in the country.

Addressing journalists after Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, Minister of Health, Professor Issac Adewole, said the policy would enhance Nigeria’s health care system.

He also said it would deliver qualitative, efficient and comprehensive health care services to Nigerians.

The policy is the third on the list of health policies for the country since independence. And the minister is confident that this time, it would improve the lives of the poor in Nigeria.
