NEMA Gives Relief Materials To Flood-Affected Community In Osun

The South West Zonal Office of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has provided relief materials to individuals who fell victim to flooding in Ilare, Ibokun Local Government Area (LGA) of Osun State on August 5, 2023.

The initiative, orchestrated to mitigate the hardships imposed by the natural disaster, unfolded at the residence of Owalare of Ilare, Oba Emmanuel Adejoro Otebolaku, and garnered the presence of key stakeholders, including representatives from Osun State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), and local vigilante groups.

During the distribution ceremony, Mr. Olarenwaju Kazeem, Acting Zonal Coordinator of NEMA, expressed heartfelt sympathy for the flood victims and conveyed sincere condolences on behalf of NEMA’s Director General. Mr. Kazeem underscored that the relief items, provided by the federal government through NEMA, were intended to assist the affected individuals in rebuilding their lives. He urged the beneficiaries to utilize the items wisely to facilitate their recovery.

In response, the recipients of the relief items expressed profound gratitude to NEMA for their vital support and pledged to make judicious use of the provided assistance as they strive to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of the devastating flooding.
