Name Cabinet Without Delay, Agbakoba Tells Tinubu

Renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Olisa Agbakoba, has called upon President Bola Tinubu to swiftly form his cabinet without any delay.
Agbakoba emphasized the importance of appointing highly capable individuals to key positions within the cabinet. He specifically recommended the consideration of new candidates for the role of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, proposing Mustafa Chike-Obi, Chairman of Fidelity Bank Nigeria, or Yemi Cardoso, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Citibank Nigeria, as potential replacements for the current CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
Agbakoba expressed these views during an interview with Arise Television, underscoring the significance of assembling a competent and effective cabinet to support President Tinubu’s administration.
Agbakoba said: “We need to talk about a limited government. The government is too big, he needs to have good people.
“The timeline for an appointment is absolutely today. Today, I will think he should be making critical appointments, I will just give a couple of names: Mustafa Chike-Obi or Dr. Yemi Cardoso.”
In addition, Agbakoba urged President Tinubu to consider restructuring the Transport Ministry by dividing it into four distinct sub-ministries.
According to Agbakoba, the revamped Transport Ministry should be comprised of separate entities dedicated to rail, road, shipping, and air transportation.
“Works should seize to be a ministry and they should go onto transport ministry.
“The challenge for Tinubu will be to name at least four or five critical ministers, because there is no time to waste,” he said.
