Matawalle Charges DICON Staff on Service Improvement

Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, has called upon the staff and engineers at the Defence Industry Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) to elevate their performance. He emphasized the Federal Government’s intention to revitalize and expand the industry, enabling it to achieve full production capacity for military equipment and hardware.

Matawalle conveyed this message during his inaugural visit to DICON’s facilities located in Kaduna State.

In his address to the industry’s workforce, the Minister stressed the pivotal role that their professionalism and dedication to work play in realizing the vision and growth of DICON. He assured them of the government’s commitment to providing adequate funding to facilitate the industry’s progress.

The Director-General of DICON, Maj Gen AE Edet, expressed his gratitude to the Minister of State for his encouraging words. He reaffirmed DICON’s unwavering dedication to its overarching vision and objectives.

During his inaugural tour of DICON’s facilities, the Minister of State visited various units, including the Special Equipment Factory, Ballistic Helmet Production Unit, and Tailoring Unit. These visits underscored the government’s commitment to strengthening the production capabilities of DICON for military equipment and hardware, reinforcing national security and self-reliance.
