Manufacturers Bring Vice President Osinbajo To Anambra

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is expected in Anambra state on Thursday. He would be there to assess the challenges facing some companies.
Governor of the state Willie Obiano confirmed this to newsmen in Awka on Wednesday.
To assist manufacturers
The visit, according to the governor, is sequel to the presentation he made to the Federal Government after he met with the Manufacturing Association of Nigeria, Anambra chapter, recently.
Sustainable package for 300 firms
Obiano expects the vice president’s visit to enable the federal government provide sustainable package for 300 firms in the state. He hopes the companies can benefit in the areas of Forex and raw material sourcing, to enable them stay afloat.
According to the governor, Osinbajo would visit the major industrial hubs of the state, including Onitsha, Nnewi and Awka.
He further said the need to help the manufacturing firms could not be far-fetched as the sector alone employs no fewer than 800,000 workers.
Obiano seeks FG’s support
“Recently I had a meeting with manufacturers in Anambra where they made their challenges known to us. I tabled the problems in Abuja before the Federal Government and Central Bank.
“On that basis, the Vice President will visit the state on Thursday [November 24] and see things for himself. He will visit selected firms in Onitsha, Nnewi and Awka,’’ Obiano said.
