Makinde Predicts PDP Victory in Ondo 2024 Gov Election

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has confidently declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will capture Ondo State from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming November 2024 governorship election.

During a strategic meeting held in Ibadan with PDP leaders from the South-West geopolitical zone, Governor Makinde articulated plans to unify the party’s factions in Ondo State, as part of broader efforts to strengthen the PDP’s electoral prospects. The meeting was primarily focused on reconciliation and strategizing for the forthcoming elections, recognizing the current governance of Ondo State by the APC.

Emphasizing the newfound unity within the PDP ranks, Makinde stated that the party is poised to challenge the APC’s hold on Ondo State. He highlighted that Agboola Ajayi, the PDP’s governorship candidate, alongside alliances with other parties, will be central to the PDP’s strategy to secure a significant turnout and victory in the polls.

He said: “Our candidate, HE Agboola Ajayi, is here and the first step forward for us is to reconcile all the tendencies in Ondo State. This is because once we have a unified PDP in Ondo State, we have a path to the Alagbaka Government House.

“To God be the glory, we have spoken as one family. Our candidate has also been able to key into that process.

“So, for us, people should expect a very strong showing from the PDP in Ondo State in November, by the grace of God.”
