Ghana Election: President Mahama Aims to ‘Make Ghana Proud’

Local media reports say Ghana’s President John Mahama aims to make the country proud regardless of the final outcome of Wednesday’s election.
Ghana’s main opposition party has called on President John Mahama to concede defeat, stating that it has a strong lead in the presidential election.
But the incumbent president’s campaign team has dismissed the opposition party’s claim, calling it “treasonable”.
Thereafter, two private radio stations reported that the incumbent president had lost to opposition leader Nana Akufo-Addo.
And now the country’s leader has asked Ghanaians to wait for the electoral umpire to declare the official results.
“Let us allow EC [Electoral Commission] to carry out its constitutional mandate.
“We will make Ghana proud no matter the outcome of the election,’’ he said in a tweet on his official account.
Let's allow EC to carry out its constitutional mandate. We'll make Ghana proud no matter outcome.
