Madrid Will Face City With Confidence In England – Ferdinand

Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, has expressed his belief that Real Madrid will approach the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Manchester City with confidence. Following a thrilling 1-1 draw in Spain on Tuesday night, both teams are set for a highly anticipated clash at the Etihad Stadium.

In the first leg, Vinicius Jr opened the scoring for Real Madrid in the 36th minute, only for Kevin De Bruyne to respond with a sensational finish for Manchester City in the 67th minute. The result has left the tie finely balanced, setting the stage for an enthralling encounter in the return leg.

Despite the evenly contested nature of the first leg, Ferdinand emphasizes that Real Madrid’s illustrious history in the competition gives them reason to approach the upcoming match without any concerns. The Spanish giants have triumphed in the Champions League five times in the past nine seasons, showcasing their pedigree and ability to perform on the grandest stage.

“Real will not be going there (to the Etihad) with any fear. They will be bouncing into that stadium with swagger.

“Real have the same amount of Champions League titles as all of the English teams added together. They own this competition.

“They know how to navigate every moment in these games because they’re so used to it. You’re playing against so much history,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.
