Light Plane Crashes In Bosnia, Kills Five

A light plane crashed in southern Bosnia on Saturday, killing no fewer than five people, including three children, police said.

The police were said to have been alerted at 3:50 pm (1550 GMT) “that a plane had crashed near Mostar. Five people were killed: the pilot, three children and a young man,” a  police official in Mostar told AFP.

The cause of the accident was not immediately known.

There was an open day at Mostar airport on Saturday,  including tourist flights over the town and parachute jumps.

Planes were flying over the area all day, according to witnesses cited by local press.
