Lewis Hamilton Advises Mercedes on His Replacement

Lewis Hamilton, departing Mercedes for Ferrari at the end of the season, has advised Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff to consider 17-year-old Andrea Kimi Antonelli as his successor for the 2025 campaign.

The seven-time world champion’s departure leaves a significant void to fill at Mercedes, and Hamilton has encouraged a bold approach, urging Wolff to take a gamble on youthful talent.

Hamilton’s recommendation of Antonelli, a promising young driver, reflects a shift towards nurturing emerging talent within Formula 1.

“Carlos is a great driver so wherever he goes he would be a positive for any team,” said Hamilton.

“I have no idea what Toto’s plans are, but for me, if it was my job and my role, I would take on a youngster, and I would take on Kimi.”

Mercedes faces the challenge of finding a suitable replacement capable of maintaining the team’s competitive edge in the upcoming seasons.
