The Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) on Friday urged manufacturing firms to have change of attitude and culture toward management of their waste.

LAWMA’s Chief Executive Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejokun, made the call during a courtesy visit to the authority of Guinness Nigeria Plc.

Adejokun said that such waste, if not properly handled, could be hazardous to the environment.

He urged them to patronise the relevant agencies in disposing their expired products.

The LAWMA chief said that Guinness had been supporting recycling of waste over the years.

He said that more of such assistance was still required, especially in the area of strong advocacy.

Also, the General Manager, LAWMA, Olusegun Adeniji, reiterated the state government’s commitment to waste recycling, saying it was a major part of the ongoing reforms in the state.

The general manager said a lot would be derived from waste recycling, urging budding entrepreneurs to participate in it.
