As part of the efforts of the State Government in ensuring that Lagos State becomes a 21st Century Economy, Special Adviser to Mr. Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje has urged Community Leaders to support and commit to the development of the State through self-help projects.
Agbaje made this call in his keynote address delivered at the leadership training programme organised for members of the Lagos State Community Development Advisory Council held today at the Secretariat, Alausa.
He urged the participants to ensure that self-help projects initiated and executed by Community Development Associations are in tandem with the T.H.E.M.E.S. Plus Agenda of the administration of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
The Special Adviser applauded the efforts of the Governor in ensuring that Community Leaders are equipped with the needed information that would help them align their self-help projects with the policy of his administration.
He assured them that the seminar would meet the strategic and critical needs of equipping Community Leaders with tools for strategic partnership and community development.
Agbaje equally urged participants to pay keen attention to all the information that they would be exposed to in the course of the training and translate it to ideas that can be initiated and executed for community development at the grassroots.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa informed the participants that the training is geared towards acquainting stakeholders of the Community Development Advisory Council with the T.H.E.M.E.S. Plus Agenda of Mr. Governor and how to consolidate efforts with the government in the development of the State.
