Lagos Warns of Imota Rice Mill Fraud

The Lagos State Government has reacted to a post by a Facebook profile “Imota Rice Mill Grains Page” on the sale of rice at the Imota Rice Mill, stating that it is the work of fraudulent elements.

The Facebook profile “Imota Rice Mill Grains Page” as well as another purportedly belonging to the H.C Agriculture, Abisola Olusanya, informs the general public about the sale of ” freshly milled and neatly packaged Eko Rice ” at cheaper rates, than the advertised rate which will be communicated to the public from time to time.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture, Dr. Oluwarotimi Fashola, the state warned fraudsters to desist from the act or face the wrath of the law.

The statement read in part, “The Lagos State Government hereby warns the general public not to fall victim of the ongoing scam, given the current economic challenges in the country and to take caution of this phone number 09033488091 with the name Adebayo, identified by True Caller as Farm Service Olam.

“You are equally advised to beware of the following account numbers listed for payment: Sonny Bisong- Zenith Bank Account Number 2080358042 and Nkpara Neekpoa Timothy- GTB Account Number 0161574847 and any other bank account details respectively as these persons haven’t been authorised by the Lagos State Government to collect funds for the purpose.

“Fraudsters and unscrupulous elements are also warned to desist from these dubious acts or face the full wrath of the Law.
You are advised that there is no online payment for the sale of rice Whoever transacts business with him does so at his or her own risk.”
