Lagos Police Recover Snatched Ballot Boxes, Arrest Thugs

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa, has said ballot boxes and other election materials snatched by thugs in the state have been recovered.

He also revealed that arrests were made by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command during Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.

Owohunwa made this known while addressing newsmen on Saturday.

The CP said, “We made a number of arrests. We also made some recoveries in terms of INEC sensitive materials, ballot boxes and offensive weapons. The number of arrests is still being compiled by our field officers.

“I will by Sunday morning know the exact number and make it public. No one was killed in Lagos state during the gubernatorial election.”
