Lagos Govt Arrest Managers for Breaking Seal Placed on Restaurant

The Lagos State Government has arrested two managers of Kingfisher, a restaurant in the Lekki area of the state after a seal placed to prevent the restaurant’s operation was found to have been broke.
In a statement, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA revealed that after the seal was broken, the restaurant began operation in full scale.
“While on a routine compliance assessment of sealed facilities last night, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, and GM LASEPA, Tunde Ajayi, discovered that Kingfisher, a restaurant at Lekki had broken the government seals and were running operations at full scale.
“The Governor’s monitoring team provided security backup, and two managers were arrested at about 12:30 am with the help of the CSO to the Governor.
“They will be charged to court today and face the maximum consequence of their actions,” LASEPA said in the statement.
In a post on X, Tokunbo Wahab wrote, “It is a criminal offence to break the government’s seal placed on any property or facility for contravening the law. Anyone or group of people found guilty would be prosecuted following the appropriate law.”
