Lagos Boy Child Initiative Continues with Awards, Educational Excursion

The Lagos Boy Child Initiative (LBCI) saw its third day marked by significant events aimed at empowering young boys in the state. The First Lady of Lagos State, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, and the Deputy Governor’s wife, Oluremi Hamzat, were joined by industry professionals to present medals and trophies to winners of sporting competitions held in the Meiran area.

The initiative, which focuses on the holistic development of boys, included an educational excursion to Mamijo Farm in Ojokoro. This farm, notable for its construction from recycled materials, provided the boys with a hands-on learning experience in sustainable fish farming practices.

Participants were taught how to raise fish without the use of growth enhancements and were introduced to innovative technologies aimed at increasing fish production. This excursion not only highlighted the importance of environmental sustainability but also aimed to inspire the boys to consider careers in agriculture and related industries.

The ongoing LBCI activities continue to underscore the commitment of the Lagos State government to the education and empowerment of young boys, equipping them with practical skills and knowledge.
