Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez, has said he is proud of his side following a 1-1 draw against Sevilla on Tuesday.
Joules Kounde got the opener before Ronald Araujo equalised for Barcelona.
Barcelona, however, could not take advantage of a red card shown to Sevilla which made them a man down.
“We’ve dropped two points, we deserved to win, also when it was 11 v 11,” Xavi said.
“I saw a Barça side with personality, which is what I want, and the team is growing. We were good at pressing and circulating the ball. We competed well, despite the draw.”
Xavi also said that “this Barça is getting close to what we want, being protagonists and brave. It’s the right path, but I will struggle to sleep because we had to win. They were able to cool the game, they’re a veteran team, they know what to do and work well tactically.
“We also didn’t have fortune. Gavi had the header, Dembele hit the post and they took the lead from a dead ball. The team is competing, improving and I am proud, just not of the draw because Barça are built to win.”
