Kogi Govt To Flag Off School Adoption Programme On January 26

Kogi State Government is set to Flag off the school adoption Programme for secondary schools in the State soon.

The School Adoption Programme is one of the brain chide of the New Direction Administration for well-to-do individuals in the State to adopt a school to motivate and teach the students.

The Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Hon Wemi Jones disclosed this when he received the Organizers and winners of Ileya Omo Okun in his Office in Lokoja.

He said the move was to engage the students early enough to avoid them been used by politicians to perpetrate Electoral violence and thuggery.

According to him, in the course of the Programme, skill acquisition will also be introduced towards promoting self reliance for Kogi youths.

The Commissioner called on public spirited individuals in Okun land too key into the programme as the project is also opened to all and sundry.

Hon. Jones assured of his commitment to partnering with the Organizers of Ileya Omo Okun to enable achieve set goals.
