Concise News reports that Melaye had recently declared his ambition to vie for the governorship seat of Kogi under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The 45-year-old has intensified campaign with lots of posters and jingles on display on his social media pages, as well as showcased his achievements in the state.
“I will be Governor of Kogi State by the special Grace of God,” he declares on his Instagram page on Sunday, June 23.
This online news medium had previously reported that campaign posters of Melaye are already in circulation. The governorship aspirant released the official photo on his Instagram page on Sunday, June 2.

This came shortly after the controversial senator declared his interest to contest the Kogi governorship election scheduled for November 16.
The senator made his intention known on Saturday, June 1, during a meeting of Kogi west PDP executives held at his country home in Aiyetoro Gbede, Ijumu local government area of the state.
