Katsina Gears Up for Local Elections with Key APC Meeting

Governor Dikko Radda is set to chair a crucial meeting of the Katsina State APC stakeholders’ caucus on May 4, 2024, aimed at strategizing for the upcoming local government elections. The meeting, expected to be a significant gathering of political figures, will also address other pertinent issues impacting the state.

The conference will see the attendance of prominent personalities including the former Governor Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, and Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema, who has recently switched allegiance from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC. Their presence underscores the meeting’s importance as the party seeks to consolidate its position in Katsina State.

Architect Ahmed Musa Dangiwa and Hannatu Musa Musawa are also slated to be present, alongside all three of Katsina’s senators and its 13 members of the House of Representatives. This high-profile participation highlights the broad-based support for the APC within the state’s political hierarchy, as well as the critical nature of the upcoming electoral challenges.

This gathering follows closely on the heels of Governor Radda’s recent welcoming of Shema into the APC fold, an event that has potentially re-aligned political loyalties within Katsina. The meeting is not just a routine strategy session but is indicative of the shifting political dynamics and the APC’s efforts to fortify its influence ahead of the elections.
