Kannywood Will Miss You, Kwankwaso Mourns Actress Saratu Gidado

Former governor of Kano State, Rabio Kwankwaso, has mourned Kannywood actress Saratu Gidado whose death was announced on Tuesday.

The actress was discovered dead after she returned home for Sagur, the predawn meal muslims eat before embarking on fasting.

She was 56 when she died. The cause of her death is yet to be disclosed.

In a post on X, Kwankwaso stated that he is “saddened by the death of Saratu Gidado, on Tuesday.

“Daso brought joy and put light to our faces with her legendary theatre skills. She shall be missed by the Kannywood Industry and all.

“May the Almighty Allah grant her Jannatul Firdaus. – RMK”

Born on January 17, 1968, Gidado made her acting debut in the year 2000 with the movie “Linzami Da Wuta,” produced by Sarauniya Movies, Daso quickly captured the hearts of audiences with her exceptional talent and versatility.

Among her repertoire of hit films that propelled her to stardom are “Nagari,” “Gidauniya,” “Mashi,” and “Sansani.”
