Just In: Buhari Writes Senate For Approval Of Supplementary Budget

President Muhammadu Buhari, in a letter to the Senate, has asked for the approval of a supplementary budget.

Buhari also asked for a review of the Finance Act 2021.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan read the President’s latter during the plenary on Tuesday.

The letter shows that the budget contains N2.557trn meant to provide for subsidy on petroleum products from June to December 2022.

The amount approved for subsidy on Petroleum products from January to June was N443 billion and with the present request, the total amount stands at N3 trillion.
