The candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi, has called on President Bola Tinubu to wake up and tackle insecurity in the country.
Obi said this following Monday’s gruesome killing of two traditional rulers which occurred during Monday’s dastardly attack in Oke-Ako area in Ikole Local Government Area of the state.
The two traditional rulers- the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola and the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola were killed in an ambush by armed men while returning from a meeting. The third traditional ruler, the Alara of Ara –Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Fatoba escaped the attack.
In the same Ekiti, six school pupils and their teachers were abducted and are yet to be rescued as of the time of filing this report.
Reacting, Obi urged Tinubu to save Nigeria from total collapse.
He wrote on X, “We are saddened by the report that Elesun of Esun Ekiti and Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti were murdered earlier today, cause of death: Insecurity and Tinubu.
“We call on Tinubu to wake up from his sleeping bed and save Nigeria from total collapse. Don’t speak up today. Tomorrow, insecurity might consume you or a loved one.”
