The Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has called for an effective synergy between state governors and security agencies to end the lingering insecurity in Nigeria.
The governor made the observation while presenting a lecture titled “Challenges of Insecurity and Nation Building” at the occasion of the 2022 University of Ibadan Alumni Association.
The lecture was organised by the University of Ibadan Alumni Association worldwide and was held at Dame Okowa Auditorium, Dr. Michael Omolaye Alumni Complex University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Friday.
Gov. Ganduje also paid a courtesy visit to the pro-chancellor/chairman University of Ibadan Governing Council, Hon. John Odigie Oyegun and the vice chancellor, Prof. Kayode Adebowale at the pro-chancellor’s lodge.
Ganduje also received an honorary award from the Dean faculty of the social sciences where he obtained a PHD in Public Administration between 1989 and 1993.
Moreover the governor laid the foundation stone of a 500-seater capacity proposed Abdullahi Umar Ganduje lecture Auditorium for the faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Ibadan.
Those who attended the event include His Royal Higness the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, Honourable commissioners and members of Kano State Executive Council, Some members of Kano State House of Assembly, members of House of Representatives, Heads of Tertiary institutions, Local Government Chairmen, Party leaders and elders, members of the Business community, among Others.
