Kidnapping: IGP Idris Set To Convene National Security Summit

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has announced plans to convene a National Security Summit. This is in reaction to the spate of incidences of kidnapping across the country.

The IG, speaking at a meeting with Commissioners of Police and Senior Police officers in Abuja, described the rate of kidnapping occurrences as disturbing and the Police would need to brace up for the challenge ahead.

He said the task would, however, be successful only if the people join in in the eradication effort.the increasing cases of kidnapping is becoming worrisome as the Police

 

The IGP appealed to the National Assembly for increased budgetary allocation to the Force to enable it improve its performance and carry out its duties optimally.
