The Sokoto state publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Yusuf Dingyadi, has resigned.

He said he left the party because it had reached a stage of hopelessness.

He added that he resigned because the state chapter of the party was “too localised” with no direction.

According to him, the leaders of the party in the state had completely lost focus and only call for a meeting when there is an election.

The party, he alleged had compromised its position as an opposition party and that it had been ignored by its leaders .

“They are not leading the party the way it should be led, making it more like an annex of the ruling All Progressive Congress, ” he stated.
