Director of Public Affairs and Chief Spokesperson, Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, has denied claims that the All Progressives Congress, APC, said it never envisaged the emergence of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
A statement had been credited to Keyamo as saying the party never saw Obi’s emergence in the 2023 presidential election.
This has been described as fake news by Keyamo in a statement on his Facebook page on Sunday.
He said, “A certain quote making the rounds on social media where I purportedly said, “We never saw Peter Obi coming, he took us all by surprise, the only mistake we made in APC was taking him for granted” is fake news and should be ignored.
“As zero hour approaches, the Obi people have resorted to lies and fake news to take them into Aso Rock. Those who say they want to reform the system have sadly turned out to be the greatest fraudulent manipulators of images and quotes and the greatest abusers of the system in order to force a narrative.
“However, I have maintained that Peter Obi entering Aso Rock is like a Carmel passing through the eye of a needle.”
