Gunmen have reportedly killed former Head of Service in Plateau State Moses Gwom alongside an off-duty soldier near his home in Barkin Ladi area of the state.
His death comes barely two weeks after suspected assassins invaded the home of 70-year-old acting village head of Gyangyang village, Mohammed Suleiman, in Kanam and killed him.
Chief of Staff, Operation Safe Haven, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Bello, told Daily Trust that Gwom was killed at his provision store close to the house.
He said the assailants had equally shot and killed an off duty soldier who also in the shop as well as the shop attendant.
Bello stated that: ”Two other off-duty soldiers were shot when the assailants were escaping but they are receiving medical treatment at our facility.”
Earlier, Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Tyopev Terna disclosed that the assailants had attacked at about 9:20pm.
