NPFL: Enugu Gov. To Host Rangers On Dec. 19

Nigeria Professional Football League champions Rangers will be hosted by the Enugu State Government on December 19 and 20.
This was made known on Monday by the State’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports Charles Ndukwe, while interacting with reporters in Enugu.
The Flying Antelopes won their seventh league title last season, their first trophy in 32 years.
And the state government is looking forward to honouring them for their exploits.
Ndukwe stated that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi wanted all stakeholders in the state, Nigeria, and in the Diaspora to be part of the reception.
“Our governor has planned a grand and all-inclusive reception for our victorious Rangers, which will hold between Dec. 19 and Dec. 20 at the Michael Okpara Square, Enugu.’’
Governor Ugwuanyi is planning a befitting reception
He noted that the governor was not leaving anything to chance as he has been working toward giving the team a befitting honour.
“They have made Enugu State people and Igbos in general happy by winning the 2015/2016 NPFL trophy after 32 years.
“Past governors of the state, South East governors, national and state assembly lawmakers, political appointees and leaders of thought in the state are expected to be part of the grand reception in December,’’ he stated.
Meanwhile, players and technical crew of Rangers are expected to return to camping immediately in a location yet to be determined by the technical team.
According to Foster Chime, the club’s Media Director, the team’s Coach, Imama Amapakabo, is expected in Enugu on October 31.
Chime disclosed that the title-winning coach would be completing issues relating to players to be retained, those to be placed on transfer market and programme for camping.
