Fire Outbreak At The Lagos International Airport

The Avio Bridge E-54 wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport was caught up in fire today.

Firefighters attached to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) responded swiftly were able to extinguish it before any damage was done.

Departing and arriving flights were however delayed for close to an hour after the outbreak.

The cause has not yet been ascertained. There are suggestions that it could be as a result of damaged cables.

Yet Another Fire

This is the third outbreak around the airport in the last month. The D-wing Departure had caught fire in September. Another one broke out four days later affecting businesses around the airport.

FAAN has not made any official statement concerning the incident.
