Fed Govt. Appropriates N45bn For North-east Reconstruction

N45 billion has been set aside by the Federal Government in the 2017 budget for the reconstruction of the North-east.

The member representing Michika/Madagali Federal Constituency, Adamu Kamale, made this known to newsmen in Gulak, the headquarters of Madagali local government area.

After presenting relief materials, donated by the Presidential Committee for North East Initiative (PCNI) to the returnee communities in Madagali area, Kamale said many incentives were put aside for the reconstruction of North East region in the 2017 appropriation budget.

”Among the provision was a total sum of N45 billion for the reconstruction and development of the affected areas by Boko Haram in the region.”

He also confirmed the appropriation of another N1 billion for the reconstruction of Mararaba-Mubi to Madagali federal highway.

He added that substantive amounts have also been earmarked for the reconstruction of all bridges destroyed from Mararaba-Mubi, Madagali to Gwoza on federal highway in 2017 fiscal year.

He said he and other members from the region would not relent until all destroyed and affected infrastructure by Boko Haram were recovered.
