Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah expressed his delight over the weekend as he officially inked a multi-million dollar joint venture agreement with the Del-York Group, paving the way for the creation of “The 042 Arena and Entertainment Park.”
The ambitious project is set to become a multifaceted sports and entertainment hub, emphasizing key aspects such as development, training, innovation, education, talent discovery, hospitality, and entertainment. The Sports Arena component will boast state-of-the-art facilities, including athlete housing, a physical therapy and sports medicine center, and a performance center.
Simultaneously, the Entertainment Park will feature diverse designs, encompassing screening rooms, stages, amphitheaters, and live-work-play facilities. Governor Mbah expressed his satisfaction at the increasing interest of investors in Enugu State, highlighting the region’s appeal for businesses and investments.
He affirmed, “This demonstrates the success of our ceaseless efforts to make Enugu the safest place to live, invest, play sports, and enjoy leisure.” The governor is optimistic that the project will not only generate thousands of jobs for the people of Enugu but also lure additional investors and tourists to the state.
Emphasizing the significance of the venture for youth development, Governor Mbah added, “It will provide a platform for our young people to showcase their talents, thereby promoting sports and youth development in our state and the entire South-East region.”
Acknowledging the visionary role played by Del-York’s CEO, Linus Idahosa, Governor Mbah pledged unwavering support for the project, declaring, “My administration will give him and his team all the needed support to flourish.” The joint venture marks a pivotal moment in the state’s trajectory, promising to elevate Enugu to new heights in both sports and entertainment.
