Endorsing Obi Is Obasanjo’s Biggest Mistake – Fani-Kayode

Former Aviation Minister Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has responded to his former boss Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s backing of Labour Party candidate Peter Obi by calling it the former president’s worst blunder.

In a four-page letter, Obasanjo praised Peter Obi and warned Nigerian youngsters against adopting the Emi lokan leadership mindset.

The former Nigerian leader also cautioned the country’s young about the qualities they should seek in a candidate for the next elections, referring to the present state of affairs as a “frying pan to fire.”

However, the former adviser to ex-president Obasanjo said in an article sent to Vanguard with the heading, ‘WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO OUR BABA?’ that Chief Obasanjo’s endorsement of Peter Obi was his worst error.

This is as he praised the All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, saying he constructed more churches and hired different ethnic groups than any governor in the history of the nation,

He said, “Honestly it pains me when I read what people are saying and writing about him since his latest letter because I remain one of his most loyal and loving sons and I am very fond of him.”

“Yet a loyal and loving son owes his father, if nothing else, one thing and one thing alone: the bitter truth.

“And that bitter truth is that his endorsement of Peter Obi is the biggest mistake that he has made ever since he came into politics in 1999 and it is nothing but an exercise in futility.

“Obi will not only lose woefully and may well be driven into fourth place but he may also lose his deposit and much more”.
