Emenalo To Be Replaced By Italian, Sabatini

Michael Emenalo is set to be replaced by former Roma director, Walter Sabatini as Chelsea’s Director of Football.

Head Coach Antonio Conte despite Antonio Conte’s admiration of Walter Sabatiniwants his fellow Italian in the position and has been pushing for the move.

Transfer guru Sabatini had made a name for himself with AS Roma after previous stints with Palermo and Lazio. He re-engineered the side with smart signing in recent years. He resigned earlier this season when his signings were been sold off by Roma.

Sabatini is credited with the emergence of Miralem Pjanic, Erik Lamela and Radja Nainggolan at Roma.

Fresh reports in Italy Sabatini was headed for Stamford bridge to take up the recruitment-focused role.

Chelsea Still Fancies Emenalo

Meanwhile, Chelsea still hold faith in director Michael Emenalo who has held the position since 2011. He supposedly offered to resign during Mourinho’s return, but it was rejected. He has survived nine years at Stamford Bridge despite several managerial and staff shake-ups.

The former Nigerian defender is highly rated by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. He is valued for his work in the club’s complex system of loans and recruitment across Europe.

However, in the heat of speculations, Emenalo’s role might be changed to accommodate the Italian.
