Emefiele Urges Compliance With Buhari’s Directive On N200 Notes

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has met with the leadership of at least 15 commercial banks since the latest directive by President Muhammadu Buhari on the new Naira policy.

Concise News reported that Buhari had in a televised message on Thursday announced that only the old N200 note will remain a legal tender until April 10, 2023.

Speaking after a meeting at the State House, Abuja, Emefiele said he has had a meeting with bank executives earlier, adding that the meeting was to ensure an ample supply of the old N200 notes to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians.
