Southern Kaduna: El-Rufai Condoles With Victims Of Latest Attack

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has commiserated with the families and relations that lost their loved ones and property in the Southern Kaduna attack which happened on Sunday and Monday.
He equally extended his prayers and support to the people who were injured and traumatised by the attack.
The governor described the attack as ”wicked, evil and devilish act being perpetrated by enemies of peace and humanity.”
He assured the citizens people that the government is fully committed to securing the area, with support from the army and the police.
Troops deployed in the area
Governor Rufai disclosed that two battalions of soldiers and 10 mobile police squadrons have been deployed to engage the bandits, ”as the state carries out its obligations to secure the area, protect lives and rout the armed bandits.”
He however pleaded with the people not to let the pains and sufferings they have so far endured in the hands of the bandits lead them to resort to reprisal attacks.
The governor urged the people to support the army and the security agencies as they work to repel attacks and crush the bandits.
The attack
Unknown gunmen on Sunday invaded Bakin Kogi, Kaninkon Village in Jamaa Local Government Area of the state, at about 5:30pm.
The attack is suspected to be the handiwork of suspected Fulani herdsmen.
