Match Bonus: We Never Demanded For Payment In Dollars – Mikel

Super Eagles skipper John Obi Mikel has denied that he informed the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation that players of the team would no longer accept their match bonuses and allowances in naira.
The Super Eagles were paid N1 million each as win bonus for their victory over Tanzania in an African Cup of Nations qualifying game. That is a difference of N1.35 million if the five thousand dollars is converted to naira on the unofficial market.
“I never granted any such interview and the team has not made that kind of demand at any time to the football federation,” Mikel told thenff.com.
The senior national team will hope for another win bonus when they confront Algeria on November 12 in Uyo in a Group B African qualifying game for Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup
