Delta Police Respond to Rise in House-to-House Robberies

Delta State Police Command’s Spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe, has revealed a concerted effort to address the surge in house-to-house robberies across Asaba and its environs.

In response to escalating concerns, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, issued a stern directive to Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to intensify efforts against criminal elements, ensuring the safety and security of residents.

On March 3rd, 2024, operatives from Delta Hawk, in collaboration with officers from Opkanam Division, swiftly responded to a distress call regarding an armed robbery incident at Marble Hill Junction. Confronted by the police, the armed robbers engaged in gunfire, resulting in the fatal injury of one suspect while others managed to evade capture. The injured suspect succumbed to his wounds while undergoing medical treatment.

DSP Bright Edafe emphasized the police force’s unwavering commitment to apprehending criminals and ensuring justice for victims. He reiterated the resolve to relentlessly pursue perpetrators, reassuring the public of the authorities’ dedication to maintaining law and order in Delta State.
