Defamation: Fans React To Maje’s Legal Action

Fans of popular OAP, vlogger and author of the bestselling book: “On Becoming”, Toke Makinwa, and her husband Maje Ayida, have reacted to Ayida’s threat to sue for defamation.
The book, which is described by the author as a “tell-all” elicited a lot of reactions, the bulk of which were negative comments directed at Maje Ayida.
According to news reports, Ayida had last week sued Makinwa over contents of the book which he said were “exaggerated fabrications.”
He particularly took umbrage with excerpts that accuse him of infecting her with sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs) due to his keeping multiple sexual partners. A behaviour she claimed is a carryover from their pre-marriage days.
The suit against Makinwa is pending on her carrying out the instructions stated in a letter sent to her by the British legal firm employed by Ayida. The instructions include a public apology in named print publications, withdrawal of the book from circulation and putting a stop to further publication of the book.
Below are some of the reactions from fans;
@TROUBLEMAKERPhd: Possibly, however Maje would have told his own side of the story not suing for proceeds.
Maliki @the95bas-Toke wud literally act all legal if Maje wrote a book on her issues too. rather she made money off it.
@clinky_lilian: Lol, I guess Maje was really waiting for Toke to blow, before he drains her of what she’s worth. #Insanity
@acupofzee: I really waiting for the day Maje would sue Toke. My nigga waited for her to make all money from the book and sent her court letters.
Meanwhile, Makinwa, who was in Ghana to promote the book, took to her Instagram page to react to the letter.
“The Lord shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace”, Makinwa posted.
