Chelsea Win Eleven In Eleven, Open Nine-Point Lead

By Andah John
Diego Costa scored again as Chelsea equalled a club record of 11 consecutive Premier League wins following a 1-0 victory at Crystal Palace.
The in-form Blues have now stretched their lead on the roof of the Premier League table to nine points.
Costa put Antonio Conte’s side ahead with their first attempt on target. He did it with his head following Cesar Azpilicueta’s floated cross.
The visitors could have made it two as Marcos Alonso hit the underside of the crossbar with a curling 25-yard free-kick.
Crystal Palace did not sit and do nothing, though. Their best chances fell to Jason Puncheon, but he headed wide and fired a free-kick narrowly over.
Another record
Records show that the Blues also won 11 matches between April and September 2009. But London rivals Arsenal still hold the record of longest winning run the Premier League with 14 wins. The Gunners achieved that feat in August 2002.
