The Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher, was reported to have died of cardiac arrest on December 27, 2016, around 8.55 am in Los Angeles, at the age of 60.

On December 23, NBC reported that Fisher was on a flight to Los Angeles from London, when she had a cardiac arrest 15 minutes before the plane landed: a fellow actor who sat close to Fisher, said that she had stopped breathing. A passenger performed CPR on her till the paramedics arrived. She was placed on a ventilator after being taken by an ambulance to the Ronald Reagan’s UCLA Medical Center.

The actress must have had her wishes come true, with reference to her 2008 book Wishful Drinking where she joked about how she wanted her obit to be inspired by a conversation she had with George Lucas the director of  “Star Wars”.

Recalling, Fisher wrote “George [Lucas] comes up to me the first day of filming and he takes one look at the dress and says, ‘You can’t wear a bra under that dress … because there is no underwear in space,”

“I promise you this is true, and he says it with such conviction too!” she added “like he had been to space and didn’t find any bras, or panties, or any briefs anywhere”

According to Fisher, Lucas joked that she would get strangled in space by her underwear if her body expands in space.

“Now I think that this would make for a fantastic obit,” Fisher added. “So I tell my younger friends that no matter how I go, I want it reported that I drowned in moonlight, strangled by my own bra.”
