President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday at Aso Rock Villa met with the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, behind closed doors, Concise News gathers.

Senator Danjuma Goje accompanied Saraki to the President’s office.

The president also met with a former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Buhari met with the two senators separately in his office shortly after they joined him for Jumat prayers at the mosque inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Muhammed, also attended the Friday prayers but left immediately after the prayers ended.

Saraki later disclose to State House correspondents that the Executive arm’s external borrowing request that was rejected by the Senate was work in progress.

The senate president urged Nigerians not to read politics into the issue. He also warns that the development should not be viewed as a reflection of the relationship between the Executive and the Legislature.

“I came here to pray. I have finished praying and I just had a general felicitation with the President. It did not go beyond that,” said Saraki.

“We should not look at the loan request as a reflection of the relationship between the Executive and the Legislature. Don’t let us politicize very important issues. As we said, this is work in progress,” he said.
