New Faction Of APC Emerges In Abuja
A new faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) called the Reformed APC (R-APC) emerged in Abuja on Wednesday. Buba Galadima has been named as the Chairman of the faction. The new divide is made up of aggrieved members of the APC, mostly from the National Assembly. Speaking at a press conference, Galadima said the local and state congresses as well as the national convention of the APC was undemocratic.
National Leaders Of Reformed-APC Revealed
A faction of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) known as the Reformed-APC has released a list of its National leaders. Prominent among them is Kazeem Afegbua, the spokesman for former Military President, Ibrahim Babangida.
APC Reacts To Emergence Of Reformed-APC
The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has stated that the leadership of the party will speak on the breakaway of some members of the ruling party. Concise News had reported that the nPDP announced their breakaway on Wednesday in Abuja under the Reformed APC, and appointed Buba Galadima as its interim National Chairman.
Oshiomhole Appeals To Aggrieved APC Members
National Chairman of the APC Adams Oshiomhole has again appealed to aggrieved members of the party to be patient with his leadership, in an apparent reaction to the emergence of a splinter group, Reformed APC(R-APC). “My appeal to all those who are aggrieved is to be patient,” Oshiomhole said.
Kwankwaso To Announce Next Political Move In 48 Hours
Former Governor of Kano state Rabiu Kwankwaso is set to announce if he would resign or remain with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next 48 hours. Kwankwaso (APC-Kano Central) is not on good terms with the leadership of the party. It was learned that the senator would be joined by his loyalists in the APC and members of the Kwankwasiya movement to take a final walk-out.
Court Compels NASS To Begin Impeachment Process Against Buhari
The Federal High Court in Osogbo on Wednesday ordered the National Assembly to begin impeachment process against President Muhammadu Buhari. Justice Maureen Onyetenu gave the ex parte order based on the continued killings and spending without lawmakers’ approval. Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, Ilesa branch, Kanmi Ajibola and a human rights activist Suleiman Adeniyi had filed the motion leading to this order.
Presidency Not Aware Of Court’s Directive On Buhari – Minister
Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, says he is not aware of a court order compelling the National Assembly to begin impeachment process against President Muhammadu Buhari. Justice Maureen Onyetenu of the Federal High Court in Osogbo granted the order of mandamus on Wednesday.
Court Orders EFCC To Produce Innoson Over Alleged Fraud
EFCC was on Wednesday ordered by Justice Olusola Williams of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, to produce the chairman of Innosson Motors Limited, Innocent Chukwuma in court for arraignment. Justice Williams made the order following the absence of Chukwuma in court to face forgery charges preferred against him by the EFCC.
Pass Rate Declines As WAEC Releases 2018 May/June WASSCE Result
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) said on Wednesday that only 49.98 per cent of candidates who wrote its 2018 school certificate examination obtained credit passes and above. The council’s Head of National Office, Olu Adenipekun, said the credit passes included English Language and Mathematics.
