Bomb Scare Was False Alarm

Men of the Police anti-bomb squad, have discovered what is suspected to be an bomb under the Jabi bridge, near the Shoprite shopping mall, Abuja.

The police have since redirected commuters as Access road to the bridge has now been blocked.

False Alarm

However, the parcel turn out to be a container left under the bridge by the Federal Capital Territory Water Board. The bomb scare is thus a false alarm.

The police discovered that the parcel was a food cooler. It was kept under the bridge by the water board officials on Wednesday.

According to an eye witness, someone had informed security guards attached to the Shoprite mall. The security called the police who barricaded the area. However, nothing was found in it.

The situation around the area has normalised and the access road has since been opened to commuters.

Meanwhile, the police has not made any official statement on the situation.
