Bolt To Run Last Home Race At Racers Grand Prix In June

World’s fastest man Usain Bolt has said he would run his last race on home soil at the Racers Grand Prix in June 2017.

The Jamaican, who stated this Friday, had already planned to retire from the sport after the August 2017 World Championships in London.

Bolt had won the 100 metres at this year’s Racers Grand Prix. And he is looking forward to rounding off his glittering career on the high.

“The Racers Grand Prix on June 10 will be my last race, it will be the last time I run in Jamaica,” Bolt told Television Jamaica’s “Smile Jamaica” morning magazine programme.

Bolt to resume training next month

The 30-year-old, who completed a remarkable Olympic career in August by securing triple gold medals in three successive Games, will resume training next month.

Bolt has wild card entries for both the 100 and 200 metres at the world championships. But he is undecided on whether to run one or both events.

He only confirmed it would be his last competition.

“Yes, I am definitely going to retire after the world championships in London, that will be my last one,” Bolt said.
