Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lead counsel to IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has accused an unnamed billionaire of sponsoring insecurity caused by secessionists in the South-East.
According to Ejiofor, this act helps in unjustly keeping behind bars his client Kanu who is facing charges bordering on terrorism and treasonable felony.
This was as he lamented that the same individual goes about with operatives of the Nigerian security agencies.
In a statement he signed, he said, “In a world where power and wealth collide, a self-proclaimed emperor billionaire enjoys the protection of an extensive security detail. Comprising personnel from various Nigerian security agencies — police, military, State Security Service (SSS), and Civil Defence — the billionaire remains shielded from harm.
“However, behind this façade lies a chilling truth. The same billionaire covertly channels vast sums to Ekperima, a notorious sponsor and coordinator of lethal criminal gangs operating from Finland.
“Ekperima, in turn, utilizes these funds to procure sophisticated weaponry for his murderous associates on the ground.
“The irony is stark: while the billionaire’s security forces stand guard, they unknowingly face danger from the very arms funded by their employer.
“The question lingers: Do they truly care? As lives hang in the balance, those who play with fate must be held accountable.
“Sponsoring heinous activities of the said ekperima through proxy is a deliberate contrive of the System to unjustly keep MNK perpetually behind bars. The world is watching.
“There is no turning back — the light must shine on all darkness.”
