Arsenal Still Have Premier League Title Race Advantage – Wenger

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has weighed in on the Premier League title race, asserting that Arsenal maintains a significant advantage despite recent setbacks.

Following Arsenal’s disappointing loss to Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium, Wenger expressed his belief that the club still holds a competitive edge in the title race. Despite the frustration of dropping points, Wenger highlighted Arsenal’s strong goal difference as a key factor in maintaining their position in the race.

While Manchester City has surged ahead in the standings, Wenger emphasized that Arsenal’s goal difference, currently higher than City’s, could prove crucial as the season unfolds.

“It was a complete surprise, you know that when you play for the championship at home with eight games to go, and you have the opportunity to make a difference, you have to take it.

“The surprise of the weekend is that basically City has their nose in front again and nobody expected that.

“Of course, one could have a bad result of the two [Liverpool and Arsenal], that is quite surprising.

“Arsenal still has the advantage [with] their goal difference you know, so even if City makes a draw and we win, we will be in front of them.”
