Rave of the moment, Nigeria‘s Samuel Chukwueze has hailed his Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2019 exploits as “a dream come true” after the 20-year-old put in a Man Of The Match display against South Africa on Wednesday night in Cairo.

Concise News reports that Chukwueze was a thorn in the flesh of the Bafana Bafana backline throughout the quarterfinal match as he netted the opener in the Super Eagles’ 2-1 win to become the youngest scorer at the AFCON 2019.

Speaking to CAF Media after the game, the Villarreal star expressed his satisfaction as Nigeria advanced to the last four of the AFCON for the 15th time in 18 appearances.

Winning feeling

“I’m so happy. Because they defeated the hosting country, so it wasn’t an easy game for us to win.

“We were disciplined on the field and everybody was doing their job. So, I’m very happy”

“I’m so happy because it is my first competition with the senior team. It wasn’t easy. I’m so happy. Its a dream come true for me to be here also.”

Preparation for the semi-final

“I know it is going to be a very tough game, but we need to work hard. We start training for the task ahead because we need to win the cup.”

“I want them to keep on supporting us and wishing us good. I pray we lift the cup and make them happy also.”

Chukwueze has played in four of the five games the Super Eagles have played so far in the competition.
