Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has been screened by the Presidential Screening Committee of the All Progresives Congress in Abuja on Tueday.
The panel was chaired by former National Chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
In a statement issued by the Governor, Fayemi thanked the panel for the opportunity to discuss his agenda for Nigeria.
He said, “I am pleased with the model adopted by the screening committee which reinforces the commitment of the leadership of our party to providing a fair and equal process for all aspirants up to the presidential primaries.
“As I have maintained throughout my nationwide consultations, we need to mobilise our party members to keep the ideals of the national agenda high on the radar, provide citizens with a genuine basis for hope that better days lie ahead, and courageously undertake reforms for national advancement and prosperity.
“Given the multifaceted engagements in national affairs as a scholar, civil society voice and institution-builder, and public servant with an unapologetic pan-Nigerian and pan-African outlook, I am convinced that my holistic agenda for national rebirth & my candidature offer the best chance for our party to retain power.
“I also represent the best chance for the demands of a national reset which our compatriots who continue quietly to labour for the unity, peace & national greatness of our country wish to see.”
