British Pop Singer George Micheal Passes Away At 53

Pop singer George Micheal died on Christmas Day at the age of 53.
BBC reports that Michael with 1980’s pop group Wham! “passed away peacefully at home”.
British police confirmed that the Central Ambulance Service was called to a property in Oxfordshire, England, just before 2 pm on Sunday.
The authorities said that there are no doubtful situations surrounding the “Last Christmas” singer’s death.
“It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period,” George Micheal’s Publicist said.
“The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage” He continued.
George Micheal was born on the 25th of June 1963, in East Finchy, London, as Georgios Kyriacos Panayoitou.
He rose to stardom alongside Andrew Ridgeley with Whiam! in the 80s.
George Micheal was best known in the 1980’s and 1990’s by his ‘post-disco dance pop’ songs like “Last Christmas” and “Wake me up before you go”.
The ‘Faith’ album artiste sold 100 million worldwide and his solo album garnered 20 million sales around the world.
He had seven number 1 singles in the UK charts and eight hits on the ‘Billboard Hot 100′ in the US, including his “Careless Whispers” and “Freedom! 90”.

In 2004, he was ranked by the Radio Academy as the most played artiste between 1984-2004. He ranks among the Best selling British artiste of all time and 40th most successful artiste that ever lived. George Micheal won several music awards, four MTV music awards, two Grammy awards, three Britt Awards, four Iveo Novello Awards and three American Music awards.
Micheal lived a controversial life, first accepting his being bisexual and coming to terms with managing it by falling in love with a Man after his release from prison in 1998.
